Volunteering With River Valley Animal Rescue
River Valley Animal Rescue is always in need of new volunteers. We have opportunities at our shelter, events and resale shop, as well as opportunities that require a special skill such as marketing or database management. Individuals who are interested in volunteering in any capacity are encouraged to apply in person, either at the Vincennes Shelter, Cat Oasis, Pet Valley Resort, online or at one of our events. Individuals who wish to volunteer at the shelter are also encouraged to request a tour of the facility and discuss possible job duties to help decide if shelter work is a good fit.
A Thank You To Our Volunteers
Volunteers are our lifeblood, and River Valley Animal Rescue is incredibly lucky to have a core group of volunteers who have dedicated themselves to the welfare of our companion animals. They selflessly give their time to our shelter and our events, making the work we do possible. We know they often give up time with their friends and family when the shelter needs them. We know that they work harder for free than they ever would at a "real" job. We know that our work, while important, is often thankless and sometimes sad. Volunteers, we are so grateful for your dedication to saving the area's abused, abandoned and neglected animals, we couldn't do this without you!

Community Service
We have a shelter full of companion animals who have been given a second chance. We believe people deserve second chances too. River Valley Animal Rescue has a policy of accepting volunteers who must complete community service for non-violent offenses on a case by case basis. Individuals interested in applying should apply in person at the shelter.
